The 4th Annual Kaizer Chiefs Executive Golf Day took place yesterday at the beautiful and plush setting of the Bryanston Country Club in Sandton. The venue and weather couldn’t have been better as Golfers from the Club’s sponsors, friends and colleagues took to the greens for what was a very successful event.

The much talked about event is fast becoming a special date on the golfing calendar with sponsors and Golfers alike making sure not to miss it. With the event becoming so popular in Golfing and Football circles, uninvited Golfers also make their way to the greens just to be a part of the ‘Family’.

Tradition is that Golfers are set to walk away with some really great prizes at the Golf Day and last night saw the Amakhosi keep with tradition as Golfers walked away with prizes that ranged from golf gear and kit, accommodation vouchers and spa treatments.

The big winners on the night were Langley Perrins and Mark Anders who walked away with prizes to the value of R17000. These Golfers took home an LCD Plasma screen and prizes including weekend vouchers for two and a Kaizer Chiefs tracksuit.

The Club Chairman, Mr. Kaizer Motaung donated R20000 to charity for the event by purchasing one of only 100 in the world, signed Tiger Woods frames.

The Chairman also highlighted the importance of giving and sharing in his opening remarks, another big tradition with the Amkahosi, as he set the example and contributed to the Carroll Shaw Memorial (Centre for alcohol and drug abuse and HIV/Aids treatment) and Vhutomi Inyiko Centre (home for mentally handicapped children). Langley and Anders also donated a further R5000 to the charities.

Key guests on the day included Amakhosi regulars Jonty Rhodes, Percy Sibiya, Bantu Holomisa, Niel Andrews, Dr. Tiny Mhinga, Vincent Williams, Nozipho Jafta, Ace Khuse, while some new additions to the Amakhosi Golfing Family were invited, Khabo Zondo, T-Bo Touch and Sue Wishart who represented the lady Golfers with the best individual score and nearest to the pin scores.

Event Platinum Plus sponsor, Standard Bank, pulled out all stops to make the half-way house a really prestigious half-way stop for the Golfers where they were treated to a Cigar Lounge decked in beautiful décor, with gourmet stir fry and world class entertainment with SAMA winners, Prime Circle making a special appearance. This was a truly unique Golfing experience that had all the Golfers pleasantly surprised.

Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung made sure to thank all the sponsors on the day for their continued support and contributions to the event.

The sponsors came on board in terms of financial contributions made to sponsor 4-balls and some contributed in kind with product and vouchers.

Prizes included LCD screens, weekend vouchers from Southern Sun, The Spier Wine Estate, The Hyatt Regency and The Birchwood Hotel, spa treatments from Rejuve and Mangwanani African Spa, Blackberry Bold cell phones and airtime vouchers, Nike gear and Golf putters and wedges, Nike golfing gear, putting sets, golf bags, caps and magazine vouchers from Amakhosi Magazine, Soccerlife Magazine and Kick-off.

Other winners on the day included:

Best Individual Score (Men)- Kwena Maobela

Best Individual Score (Ladies)- Sue Wishart

Nearest to the Pin- Sue Wishart and Elijah Thatu

Longest Drives- Sue Wishart and Dr. Tiny Mhinga
