The mission to unearth the next generation of talented players took place last week when the Kaizer Chiefs Development hosted hundreds of youngsters from U13, U15 and U17 age groups. The trials were hosted in Moletsane, Meadowlands and Sebokeng.



Kaizer Chiefs Development Technical Manager, Lucky Stylianou, a Kaizer Chiefs legend in his own right was very impressed with the talent that was on display. “On 16 October 2008, we were in Meadowlands and we had a good turn out with some fine talent on display. Roughly 250 youngsters tried their luck,” he commented.



"The next day we were off to Moletsane where one of our current players Thabo Mooki was born. We identified a few youngsters from this area who showed lots of potential. On 18 October 2008, we were off to the Vaal and there we found a huge turn out with over 32 teams trying out. The talent on display was of high standard. There is a lot of potential there and I am confident that we will unearth more talented players from this area," Lucky concluded.



He also revealed to kaizerchiefs.com that quite number of children will be invited to 2nd round of trials to be held at Shaft 17, on 26 October 2008, as the mission to unearth the next generation of football stars gains momentum.
