In their final round of SAFA Gauteng Development League (GDL) matches before going on recess for the July school holidays, Amakhosi’s youth academy teams faced Mamelodi Sundowns at Clapham Hogh School in Pretoria on Sunday.

The U14s and U15s both won the early fixtures by a score line of 2-1, while in the afternoon, the U17s played to a 2-2 draw before the U19s went down 1-0 in a closely fought encounter.

The GDL resumes on 26 July.

There will still be action, however, as Amakhosi’s U18 team will play a friendly match against Lesotho’s national U20 team at the Village on Saturday, 5 July, in preparation for the 2025 Engen Knockout Challenge, which takes place at Marks Park in Emmerentia, home of Wits Juniors Football Club, from 18-20 July.
