Josta saved me - Tau

EL Capitan, Jimmy Tau has singled out teammate Josta Dladla for helping him come out of ‘depression and pain’. The Kimberly born defender revealed this in the latest edition of Amakhosi magazine.

Tau seems to have received a new lease of life starting from the Soweto derby where he marked Orlando Pirates danger man Teko Modise out of the game.

“One day after practice Josta asked me to stay behind because he wanted to talk to me. He sits next to me in the change room and I think he could sense I was struggling,” said Tau, who has played more than 100 games for the Glamour Boys since joining back in 2005.

“He told me I am not the only one with problems and that there are people out there who are suffering more than me. He reminded me that I am not alone and I needed to pull myself together because people look up to me. The most important thing that came out of that discussion is that Josta asked me to come to church with him,” explained Tau.

Tau described his discussion with Josta as bit ‘harsh’ and admitted he was upset afterwards.

“I was pretty upset and angry with him at that time, but when I went home and thought about what he said I realised he was right. I had turned my back on God! I had begun to doubt my faith. Josta helped me find my way back and reminded me when I was successful God was in my life,” revealed Jimmy.

The Kaizer Chiefs faithful will have to look forward to a brighter 2010 if Tau’s form is anything to go by as the captain was at his best once more as Chiefs collected all the points against AmaZulu at Loftus in the last game for 2009.
