Kimberly born midfielder, Abraham Jacobs has said that he is hoping to break into the national U-20 team after missing out in a tournament held recently in Cape Town where Amajita beat Brazilian counterparts by 3-2.

The youngster who earned himself the nickname “Combiassio”, after the Argentina and Inter Milan midfielder, and who was handed the famous jersey number 12 during the Peter Mokaba Cup in Limpopo early this year, has been nursing an ankle injury.

“It was disappointing to miss out on a tournament of that magnitude. I had been called together with two of my Club teammates at U-19 level, Lucky Baloyi and Tshegofaso “Ninja” Ramabu. I am hoping to make my mark at international level, but the work for me starts here at Chiefs,” he said.

Vladimir Vermezovic has already given the 18-year-old a professional contract and he started training with the first team last Friday. “We trained with the first team for a while in January and now we are back again and I cannot wait to join the team for the pre-season. I am forever grateful to the coaches at the Development for all the guidance since coming here to Johannesburg,” he added.
