The Amakhosi have escaped having to face Jomo Cosmos in the humid Durban, as their hosts Jomo Cosmos have opted to move the game away from the Absa Stadium where the game was originally scheduled to have taken place on Saturday afternoon.

Chiefs will now make a shorter trip to Orkney in the North West Province to face Cosmos on Sunday afternoon. The Amakhosi will face up to a Cosmos team who come off the back of a 4-0 nil victory over Bidvest Wits.

With Chiefs having also won over the weekend, the game is well poised to be just as exciting and enthralling encounter, which was the case when the teams met earlier in the season and played out a 2-2 draw at the FNB Stadium back in September.

Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp believes that given the current form of both teams, fans can expect another tough open contest when the teams clash on Sunday afternoon. “In September we put in a performance against Cosmos which I felt was perhaps one of our best of the season. We came back from two goals down and got a point out of the game which we could have at one stage even won, given Cosmos current form and with the way we played against Benoni I can safely say that fans will be in for a similar open ended attacking high scoring encounter,” added the Chiefs coach.
