It’s only the beginning – Vermezovic

Serbian born, Vladimir Vermezovic was satisfied with the team’s performance that sent Manchester City packing and the Glamour Boys claiming the coveted Vodacom Challenge for the record fifth time in 10 editions on Saturday at the Loftus Versveld Stadium in Tshwane.

However, the soft-speaking coach was the first one to warn that, “It’s only the beginning and the league game on 8th August is the most important date.

It was an honour to play Manchester City twice during this tournament. The final game was never going to be easy for us as they had the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and all other stars in the mix. I am proud once again for the boys though for showing they can rise to the occasion like they did on Saturday,” he said.

“Manchester City just like us are in a process of building for the new season and were not 100% ready for this fixture. It was a good game and I am sure our fans really enjoyed it.

We are hoping to bring more smiles to Kaizer Chiefs faithful during the course of the toughest season ahead,” added Vermezovic.
