Kaizer Chiefs defender, Mokete Tsotetsi has said that he is not bitter after being left out by Bafana Bafana coach, Joel Santana for the squad to face Nigeria this coming weekend. The tough as teak defender was a regular member of the squad under Carlos Alberto Parreira, but it was Joel Santana who handed him his national team debut against Sierra Leone in June.

He was however left out of the squad that went to London last month to face Australia in an international friendly and again for the crucial 2010 World Cup/African Nations Cup qualifier. Talking to kaizerchiefs.com on Wednesday the hard tackling defender says he has accepted the coach’s decision and also called the nation to get behind the national team.

“It goes without saying that everyone wants to play for Bafana Bafana and yes it is disappointing when you are not there. However there are a lot of players that are currently competing for a place in the squad. I see this as a wake up call for me to work on areas that are of concern and improve my game” he said.

“It is better when you are being left out now than later. I will have time now to work on my game with an aim to be considered in future. My focus now will be to do well here at Chiefs before I can start thinking about Bafana Bafana,” he said.

“I believe we have what it takes to beat Nigeria this weekend. The coach has assembled a good squad - all we have to do as a country is to get 100% behind the team. All the best Bafana Bafana” he concluded.
