Willard Katsande has said that he and his teammates who did duty for their national teams over the weekend have now turned their focus to the upcoming MTN8 final on Saturday, 10 September 2011 at Soccer City Complex FNB Stadium Soweto.

Kick off for the game is at 20:15.

Katsande affectionately known to kaizerchiefs.com as “Cheese & Onion” was once again on the score sheet for Zimbabwe as they sent Cape Verde packing in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, rejoined his teammates at Kaizer Chiefs Village for training on Tuesday morning ahead of the mouthwatering MTN8 WAFA WAFA final.

“I am glad that we won the game against Liberia, now though I have one thing in mind, the MTN8 final on Saturday – it’s WAFA WAFA,” said Katsande with a smile.

“Soweto derby is a game that brings excitement to millions of people not only here but also back home in Zimbabwe.

“I was glued to my television set last year watching the epic battles between the two giants. It was nice to see my compatriot Knowledge (Musona) scoring a brace in the 3-1 and the guys were at their best as the beat Pirates in the Telkom final as well,” recalled Katsande.

Katsande who has scored in two consecutive fixtures for Zimbabwe received a boost last week when his papers were processed by Home Affairs. Together with his compatriot, Lincolin “Harare” Zvasiya are both available for selection.

“I was working hard even before the papers got processed. It is a dream of every player to play in the Soweto derby but I am patient waiting for my chance.

The guys who have been playing have all been doing well. The most important thing is the team and on Saturday we will all play, fight as a team whether one plays or not.

Back in training this morning together with Katsande were his homeboys, Lincolin Zvasiya who also had a run over the weekend.

Bafana Bafana internationals, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Itumeleng Khune, Lehlohonolo Majoro and Bernard Parker also trained with the team this morning.
