Isaacs’ return looms

Kaizer Chiefs defender, Dominic Isaacs has told kaizerchiefs.com that he will be ready to take his chance in the team having fully recovered from the injury that has seen him watching from the sidelines since joining the Club at the beginning of the season.

“Domza” returned to training two weeks ago after aggravating his troublesome quadriceps early in January. Then the medical team had given the player all clear to start training with the team.

“It has been a complicated injury but I am glad that now I am training full time with the rest of the guys without feeling any discomfort,” said Isaacs.

Coach, Muhsin Ertugral has taken a cautious approach and gave Dominic full 45 minutes during a friendly match on Tuesday afternoon.

“I wanted to play the whole 90 minutes,” he said with a smile.

“I have suffered enough with this injury and I know that I cannot rush things. I need to be patient and start working on my fitness. I have to train hard and if I continue participating in friendly games then I will be able to gain match fitness that I really need.

I do not want to put a date to say I will be back on this date and so on. It all depends how things are going in the next couple of weeks and also if the coach feels I am ready to do the business for the team. I am itching for action but I will not rush myself,” said Isaacs.

Isaacs who travelled to Pretoria to watch the team over the weekend against Bidvest Wits said the injury has made him stronger as a person.

“Football is not for the faint hearted. I had a chance to travel to various parts of the world in my teens and played in the CAF Champions League when I was 21, but this injury has really tested me as a person. I am feeling stronger and more determined to play the game that I love,” he concluded.
