The coach has stated that the performance of the team recently has not been an issue, the end result has been and that Chiefs have let themselves down recently with some eccentric behaviour on the pitch.
The coach said, "we had a meeting on Friday morning - we looked at it more as an introspective gathering. All the players and technical staff were there and I had asked the players to go home and think about what they would like to discuss at the meeting."
Middendorp further adde: "From my side I dealt with a number of issues which included a discussion of how we have disappointed our faithful legion of supporters, which to me is a topic close to my heart. I know the supporters might not have been 100% behind me but they are still an important part of my life as long as I am with Kaizer Chiefs.
"If one looks through the history of Chiefs, you will find that the strength of the team has been the public support and affection it has received down the years. Our success lies in having our supporters behind us and no one can blame them for feeling let down at this point in time. We will bring the smiles back to their faces."
Friday morning's meeting, according to the coach, was also used by the players as a guide towards all the team players and coaching staff working towards fulfilling agreed upon objectives and set goals.
