I should have kept cool, says Scara

Scara Ngobese picked up his third yellow card of the season against Classic on Wednesday night, which effectively ruled out the valuable midfielder from this weekend’s big game against Pirates.

Speaking after breakfast at the team’s base in the Magaliesburg mountains he said “ I now have to pack and go home - this is not good for me, I let the heat of the moment get to me and I have let down fans, team mates and my family”.

Scara opened the scoring when Chiefs drew 1-1 against Pirates at the end of April, did not receive words of conciliation from teammate Cyril Nzama “I warned Scara to avoid certain Classic players because I could see they were provoking him.

We needed to be careful on Wednesday, he picked up a needless booking which could have been avoided, we go into Saturday without an important team member but we will overcome his absence” said the vastly experienced defender.

Coach Ernst Middendorp echoed similar sentiments when he commented, “ If he had received a card going in for a serious challenge I would not have had a problem. He had his own destiny in his hands and should have been calmer in that situation - we had five other players on the park who were on two yellow cards and came through for us”.

The coach has said that he will decide on who will replace Scara after a meeting with the technical team on Friday evening.
