George Lebese has said that he will have to work harder this season if he is to realize the potential he showed last season when he signed on the dotted line with the Glamour Boys.

The Mamelodi born was speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Wednesday afternoon after missing out on the ‘Rookie of the Year’ Award that was won by Siphelele Mthembu of Orlando Pirates.

“To be honest I am disappointed that I did not win the award but then again I did not feature much last season and congratulations to the winner,” said George who has earned himself a nickname “Finidi” from kaizerchiefs.com after former Super Eagles star, Finidi George.

“Being nominated for such an award shows that I am on the right track. I am going to continue working hard in improving all aspects of my game. It is very important that I continue doubling my efforts at training if I am to fulfill my potential. The coach has already shown that if you work hard at training and you follow instructions then you will be rewarded,” concluded the youngster with a sweet left foot.

George Lebese made six appearances for the Amakhosi in his rookie season, starting one league game, coming on four times as a substitute while he also made an appearance as a substitute in one cup game.
