Michael Nkambule remains modest following his superb performance on Wednesday night, insisting to kaizerchiefs.com that he has a long way to go.

“We have been given couple of days off, but for me I cannot rest on my laurels I need to continue working hard,” said the player who has earned the nickname, “Ace” from the Kaizer Chiefs faithful.

Nkambule made his comeback to the team against Free State Stars following a five months absence.

“I continued working hard to reclaim my position in the team. I also got a lot of encouragement from my teammates and the Technical Team which is helping a lot,” he said.

“I have always said that I want to win trophies with this Club and I know if I work hard and continue to get support from my teammates then I will improve,”

A contender for Rookie of the Year award in 2007/2008 season, Nkambule showed his class on Wednesday night when he turned a hopeless Bay United defender inside out before sending a beautiful curler that went just wide of goals.

“I rushed a bit,” he said with a smile. “I am hoping to build on this. I can feel my confidence is now back. This is good for me and the team,” he concluded.
