Tefu Mashamaite believes that his game will get much better after making his official debut for the Club during the 2-0 drubbing of Moroka Swallows at Dobsonville Stadium.

The uncompromising centre back replaced Thomas Sweswe who was withdrawn due to bout of flu and he did not put his foot wrong alongside, Dominic Isaacs.

“I am pleased with my performance and happier that we won the game. I personally feel that I can contribute more to the success of the team this season. I am going to continue working hard in training,” he told kaizerchiefs.com after the Soweto derby on Wednesday evening.

“I started bit slow which is normal. It can be difficult in the first few minutes as you trying not to put your foot wrong. Credit should go to my teammates for helping me out. I must also mention that communication between me and Dominic Isaacs was also good which made difference.”

It was Mashamaite’s flick that set up Josta Dladla to score the second goal of the evening. This was following a well taken corner kick chief creator, Siphiwe Tshabalala.

In the second stanza he watched his flying header going inches over the bar, a sign of good things to come from the lanky defender.

“We have good players in the team and with the type of service we getting from set pieces I have no doubt that I am going to get few goals for the team this season,” said the player affectionately known to kaizerchiefs.com as Roadblock.

Mashamaite added that his debut was even more special that the team registered its second win in a trot, “We came to the game with one objective to win and we are all delighted we going home with 3 points. It was a very special night for me of course as I was making my debut for the team.”

Addressing the media after the proceedings, Vladimir Vermezovic expressed his satisfaction over the performance of Mashamaite.

“He came in and a good job for us at the back. It is good to have depth in the team because after losing Thomas Sweswe in the morning we did not panic because we knew that Mashamaite can do the job for us.
