“Didi” as he was affectionately known, joined the Club back in 1989 and was part of the incredible squad that won a double back in 1992 where he formed a memorable partnership with another Chiefs legend, Doctor Khumalo.

He was recalled to the first team this season to assist the Serbian, Vladimir Vermezovic as the Glamour Boys seek to reclaim the top spot in the league.

Doctor Khumalo wished his former teammate all the best during his birthday, “I want to wish Ace all the best on his birthday. I have known Ace for a very long time…he has always been a quiet guy. He is also a winner and does not like losing. I am sure that his winning mentality is going to rub off with the first team players. All they need to do is to listen to him…I wish all the best once again.”

There was no holiday though for the former no.12 as the team is sweating it out at training in preparation for a fixture against Maritzburg United this coming weekend at Orlando Stadium.
