Kaizer Chiefs defender, Gordon Gilbert took some time during the Christmas break to meet Club’s supporters in Mpumalanga. This was following an invite from Kaizer Chiefs Supporters Club, Ermelo Branch.

The Chairman of the Club, Mr. Kaizer Motaung had also made a call during the Club’s End Year Function for everyone to make difference to those who are disadvantaged.

“I was born in Ermelo so I went there to give away some presents to the disadvantaged kids. I also got to spend some time with the kids. Spoke to the people who are looking after the kids. It was good to be able to help people and how lucky we are to be in a position to make difference in other people’s life. People love the Club in Mpumalanga and they could not stop talking about what their wishes are for 2009. It was in deed a humbling experience being out there with supporters,” he said.

“I listened very careful to the Chairman, Mr. Kaizer Motaung when he made a call for all of us to make difference to those who are not as fortunate as we are. I am hoping to continue to giving back to the community. The feedback I got from the fans was overwhelming. They appreciated the effort and I enjoyed every minute of it,”

Gordon also wished everyone a prosperous New Year, “To the supporters, continue supporting us and believing us. Let is make 2009 a big year...try better yourself in whatever you do,” he said adding that he can’t wait to be back at work next Monday.

The Glamour Boys in preparation for what promises to be a gruelling 2009 resumed training on Friday after taking a short Christmas break.
