Four Changes to Amakhosi squad

Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp needed an extra 24 hours to mull over the final eighteen players, who would make up the squad to face Moroka Swallows at the Johannesburg Stadium in what will be a fiercely contested PSL game on Sunday.

The extra time taken by the coach has seen him make four changes to the squad that drew 0-0 with Santos in midweek.

Players exiting the scene are midfielders Rene Richards and Lucky Mzizi along with the striking duo of Kaizer Motaung Junior and David Radebe.

Taking there places will be left back David Mototo, striker Songwe Chalwe and the much talked about midfield duo of Scara Ngobese and Gert Schalkwyk with the latter making the squad for the first time this season.

Commenting on the changes coach Ernst Middendorp said "The players who have been dropped did not do any thing wrong ; I just felt we needed to make some technical changes ”.

The coach has shown with his squad selection that he has goals on the mind after Chiefs have gone through their last two games without scoring.

“I felt that we created a lot of chances and we needed to be more purposeful in attack and I believe with some of the guys I have brought in can do that”.

Much talk has also been made about the coach leaving Scara Ngobese out of Wednesday night’s game; the young midfielder has fought his way back into the squad to face the Dube Birds.

Commenting on Scara’s inclusion the coach said “Scara has put in a lot more effort in training this week, he is looking meaner and faster as well as being more disciplined in training. He knew what he needed to do in order to climb back into the match day squad”.

Chiefs will be hoping for victory on Sunday in order to close the gap on Pirates at the top of the table.
