Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has included five Kaizer Chiefs players in his squad for the local training camp scheduled for Thursday.

Goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez made a lasting impression on the new Bafana coach and was invited for camp despite his inactivity this past weekend. Overall, Fernandez has had a superb season but tough competition in the Amakhosi goalkeeping department has forced Ted Dumitru to use a rotational system.

Defender David Kannemeyer, who was also out of action on Saturday, has also been called up. Midfielders Stanton Fredericks and Jabu Mendu plus striker David Radebe are also in the squad.

Meanwhile, Players from Ajax Cape Town, Santos, Manning Rangers and Moroka Swallows have been excluded from the squad, as their Teams will be participating in the ABSA Cup over the weekend. The same applies for players from Orlando Pirates and Black Leopards who have now been scheduled to play in a PSL match on Sunday 09 May.

Baxter arrives today (Tuesday) with his family. He will then visit Ajax, Santos, Rangers and Swallows to monitor their players in their forthcoming matches to ensure that their players are not prejudiced by not attending the camp.
