Kaizer Chiefs is hoping to bounce back from the recent slump that has seen the side collecting only 1 point in a possible 9. These were the words of vice captain, Tinashe Nengomasha speaking to kaizerchiefs.com after the team’s last training session ahead of the game against Platinum Stars.

The General has been here long enough to ‘take the good with the bad’. The team was on a high in November only losing once and winning four times. Things though have been different in December as they lost two and drew one. The loss against Free State Stars midweek saw the Glamour Boys sliding to 7th position having occupied 4th position in the log.

“We did very well in November with victories against Amazulu, Supersport United, Bidvest Wits and Golden Arrows and we were determined to keep the momentum. However things did not go our way in December as we started with the loss against Santos away. That really hit us but despite this we are still determined as ever as the team. We know that we have to bounce back starting on Saturday against Platinum Stars,” he said.

Nengomasha and his teammates are aware that Platinum Stars will not be an easy meet, “They are quite a difficult side to play with. This season they have signed new players who seem to have brought life to the team. We know for sure it will not be easy to beat them.

People have again written us off following the results in the past three games. We are not giving up - to us the fight is only starting. The gap between us and the teams above us is not huge and in football anything is possible,” he concluded.
