Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez has ended speculation about his future by signing a three-year contract extension with Amakhosi on Monday.

Fernandez was a source of much speculation in the last couple of months after it was reported that he had signed a pre-contract with archrivals Orlando Pirates. The former Wits keeper had also denied he was about to jump the Amakhosi ship but this did not end the speculation.

A contract extension will put to rest the speculation and the news will be a welcome boost for Amakhosi who are preparing for a tough Premiership match against their hoodoo side SuperSport United at Loftus on Wednesday night. The match will be live on SS3 at 19:30.

Several other players, whose contracts were coming up for renewal, are also believed to have put pen to paper. Details will be released during the course of the week.
