He took time to speak to kaizerchiefs.com about his ambitions and about his strengths as a player.

How did you football career started?

Lehlohonolo Majoro: I started playing the game at a very young age. I think I was 11 years when I took the game seriously playing for Transnet until I was 14. I then represented my province, Free State in the Nike Tournament.

I was playing as a striker even in those days scoring goals. I played for a MUBS in my township when I was doing matric and when went to varsity I played for varsity team in Vodacom. While at varsity I played in the SASSU provincial and national team. I continued with this when I went to UJ (University of Johannesburg until I joined AmaZulu in 2009.

Who did you look up to the most as a kid?

Lehlohonolo Majoro: It has to be my dad, Thabang. I hear he was a good player in his day. His friends always tell me that he was really good.

On the field I looked up to the likes of Thierry Henry while at Arsenal and Ronaldo (Brazil). I liked the way they played as forwards and will be glued on the screen every time the two played.

Who is the best player you have played with?

Jacob Dlamini

Lehlohonolo Majoro: There are quite number of guys that I can mention. Shabba (Siphiwe Tshabalala) is definitely one of them. He is a team player. He scores and creates opportunities for his teammates.

What do you see as your biggest strengths and weaknesses?

Albert Sono

Lehlohonolo Majoro: I think my runs off the ball are my strong points. I do think the speed as well.

I still have to work on decision making and my first touch.

Are you intending to be named to Goalscorer this season?

Motlanyane Tsepetsi

Lehlohonolo Majoro: It would be a great honour to win the Award thus keeping it at Naturena. I will continue to score goals for the team and see what happens.

I do take into consideration that the team goals come first before individual goals. The team has to win first before I can dream of collective individual awards. I will still be happy to create opportunities for my teammates to score and if the team wins I will still be happy.

Are there any defenders in the League that you approach with caution?

Mike

Lehlohonolo Majoro: I respect each and every defender that I come up against. I am not afraid of anyone but when you respect your fellow professional it helps you to prepare better and not be complacent. This also depends on the tactics and approach from the Coach.

I try follow instructions from the Technical Team all the time.

Do you have any children and when your contract expires are you going to re-sign or go look after the team?

Lehlohonolo Majoro: I always avoid mixing my private life with football so I request to answer football related questions.

I have only been here for the few months and I am enjoying it. I have two years to go on my contract with the Club. I am focus on giving my best now in each and every game I play and I will see what happens at a later stage.

How disappointed are that Bafana Bafana will not play in the African Cup of Nations in 2012?

Lehlohonolo Majoro: I am very disappointed! We all wanted to represent the country in next year’s African Cup of Nations. It would have really helped me and the team to take our game to the next level.

I still can’t believe that after all the hard work we put as the team we are not playing in the tournament in January and February next year.

In life you win some and you lose some. We just have to focus now on preparing for the 2013 Nations Cup that we will be hosting and of course the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Playing in the 2012 African Cup of Nations would have really helped us to prepare adequately for both 2013 and World Cup qualifiers.

How would you describe the past 5 months at Naturena?

Lehlohonolo Majoro: The atmosphere at the Village has always been beautiful. The team and the players are all ambitious and this lifts you as a player.

Everyone is always positive. Our supporters have also been great always wanting to fill the stadium where ever we get to play. They come in numbers to motivate us and all you want to do is to give something back to them.

Kaizer Chiefs travel to Rustenburg this coming weekend to start their defence on the Telkom Knockout, do you see this an opportunity to win your first silverware in the gold and black?

Lehlohonolo Majoro: We did not win the MTN8 as planned so we are going all out to defend the trophy.

I understand that the team have won the competition twice in a row so we just need to build on that and focus on achieving our goal to defend the trophy.
