For ten -year old Khanysile Mayo - son of Amakhosi star Patrick Mayo it is no different, the young Mayo on school holidays had a rare opportunity on Thursday to watch his father run through his daily routine on the training ground.

Many young men ultimately have the desire to follow in dads’ footsteps and Khanysile is no different.The young Mayo - when asked about his future career path said “ I want to be a soccer player just like my dad, and be as good as he is”. Patrick Mayo who has throughout his career stayed away from controversy has been a model sportsman and has passed down similar values of hard work, fair play and respect for ones opponents to his offspring.

“It is not often I get to be able to bring my children here to see the hard work that goes into being a soccer player.I t is not just about making money.

There are many other responsibilities that go with playing for a professional team and being in the public spotlight with that there is also the fun, enjoyment and fulfilment aspect of going to work every day and loving the job you do” added Mayo senior.

With the likes of young Khanyisile trodding in the path beaten by his father, receiving the correct training means that the future looks very bright for the Amakhosi class of 2015.
