He was among the first to arrive again at Chiefs Village not only because it is the ‘end of the month’ but - he is bidding farewell to the Club he has served for nine years.
Talking to kaizerchiefs.com on Friday morning, The Chairman, Mr. Kaizer Motaung revealed that he was bit reluctant ‘transferring’ Jason to Royal Bafokeng Holdings.
“This was one transfer I really did not want to sign off,” said the Chairman jokingly.
“I am honoured to have had an opportunity to work with Jason for more than nine years. He has been a loyal servant and I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of Kaizer Chiefs and wish him all the best in his new endeavours,” he said.
The Chairman told kaizerchiefs.com that his ‘rivalry’ with Jason is going to continue bar his departure to Royal Bafokeng.
“He is a Liverpool fan and I have always had soft spot for Manchester United. I am not sure if his departure has anything to do with Liverpool now trailing in the log standings in the Premiership. I will still give him a ring in May when the champions are crowned,” added the Chairman with a smile.

It is your last day today, how does it feel...
I am bit emotional about it, I mean this is one of the biggest clubs in the continent and I have been here for nine years. I have made friends and have only fond memories of my stay here. It has been good.
Do you remember what the Chairman said when you arrived at the Club?
Kaizer was not part of the early series of interviews I had with the Club but he was present when I came for my last interview. I found him in the boardroom sitting with other Directors of the Club, Bheki Shongwe and Hamid Muhammad. His first question was, “I see you are from Liverpool, which Club do you support in England?” I replied, “Liverpool”. They all screamed, “Yoooh”. I thought I had messed it up.
Kaizer is a fantastic gentleman; I have not met anyone who is as humble as Kaizer. I was privileged to have worked with him.
I am going to miss the debates together with Abdulla who is an Arsenal fan.
What is your fondest memory during your stay with the Club?
Being a Liverpool fan, I regard our Vodacom Challenge Final victory over Manchester United as something I will never forget. Chiefs did not show Man U any respect on that afternoon at Loftus.
Who is the funniest player you have met here?
Thabo Mooki. He calls me “Tereblanche”. He often pops in to my office to crack jokes. He is a nice guy indeed.
Who have been your favourite players during your stay with the Club?
Tinashe Nengomasha is world class! His defensive qualities match his creative qualities. He is also an inspiration for the side. Doctor Khumalo! Only because he is Doctor...also a wonderful person off the field. Rowen Fernandez, not only is he a good shot stopper but his distribution is super and he created lot of goals for the Club because of his superior throws and that sweet left foot of his.
As the Club’s Financial Manager you have collected many cheques, which one is the most memorable?
(Smiling) It has to be our league cheque end of 2003/4 season. The Club had gone for years without winning the league and when we finally won it, it was something special.
