Kaizer Chiefs Head of Development, Walter Steenbok and his colleague, Doctor Khumalo have continued to arm themselves with coaching courses. This is after the two attended the SAFA Level 2 Phase 3 course at Victoria Lake on Sunday, 09 November-16 November 2008.

SAFA Level 2 Phase 3 Course is equivalent to the renowned UEFA A License.

Walter Steenbok, known in football circles as “Baresi” has described the course as an eye opener and a must for young coaches.

“I have no doubt that the courses are going to go a long way in us contributing positively to the success of the Development Academy. We are dealing with a wide range of topics from Theory of training, Sports Medicine, Laws of the game and Team Leadership. We are currently busy with exams...for instance we will be writing another paper tonight.

There will also be practical tests and presentations as part of the course” he said adding that both Conti Khubeka and France Mokgashwe who are both instructors have been very supportive.

Kaizer Chiefs have already started reaping the rewards - as Kaizer Chiefs U17 coach. Doctor Khumalo guided his side to victory in September when they won the Platinum Stars U17 Tournament - while Walter Steenbok is on course to turn things around at the Kaizer Chiefs Development
