“Personally, I love facing Sundowns,” This was Muhsin Ertugral’s response on how he feels about the upcoming game against Mamelodi Sundowns next week Thursday.

The coach’s future has been subject of speculation in the media in the recent weeks but Muhsin Ertugral is quietly continuing with his chores at the Club headquarters in Naturena.

Following a defeat in the hands of Tuks mid March, Chiefs have come back strongly winning games against Golden Arrows and Bay United and drew with Free State Stars.

“It is a classic game and as a coach, it is the kind of game that gets your blood boiling. I love games against Mamelodi Sundowns as they bring lots of excitement from players and fans alike.

However, we are not going to this game thinking about the last time we met Sundowns at Absa Stadium in the MTN 8 final. This is a new game altogether where three points is very crucial for us,” he told kaizerchiefs.com.

The coach expressed his delight to see couple of young players coming up and taking responsibility as Wayne Matle and Michael Nkambule has shown in recent games.

“Wayne has done very well and before that he had waited patiently for his chance. I have been impressed with the way Michael (Nkambule) has been playing. He was fantastic for us after coming in against Bay United. He is such a quality youngster and we are giving him all the guidance he needs for him to be on top of his game.

We still have other players like Sihle Mbambo who are currently doing well at training and at a right time - they will also be introduced,” he said.

Back to the Sundowns game, Muhsin feels with four games to go before the end of the season the Club has an outside chance in the Absa Premiership.

“It is not in our hands but we are going to keep on fighting. The Champions League spot is a possibility for us. Chiefs should compete with the best in Africa. The next four games, Sundowns, Pirates, Santos and Platinum Stars will be very crucial in deciding our fate in the league this season,” he concluded.
