Ertugral defends Zwane

Kaizer Chiefs mentor, Muhsin Ertugral has defended veteran Arthur Zwane following the loss to bitter rivals Orlando Pirates on Saturday. The veteran winger started on the right side of the defence for the third consecutive game in the league.

“Arthur did not do anything wrong today,” said the visibly disappointed Ertugral after the game.

“He has done well in that position. His experience has helped him a lot in dealing with situations. The two goals that were scored against us were not as a result of his mistakes. I do think he was bit cautious on the day. He remains one of the key players in this young team,” he added.

Meanwhile the Turk admitted that Orlando Pirates were a better side on the day. The Bucs had failed to beat Amakhosi in the league in four years and they finally did on Saturday sending the boys from Phefeni back to Naturena with a 2-0 loss.

“Orlando Pirates looked good; you could see the “Teko Modise Factor”. We knew how Orlando Pirates were going to play and we had prepared accordingly. However nothing worked and I do not want to come with excuses...we lost to a better team on the day.

We have to go back to the drawing board, and work on our mistakes. We have our players going to their respective national teams on Monday but preparations for the upcoming game against Bidvest Wits will have to continue,” he concluded.
