Kaizer Chiefs coach, Muhsin Ertugral has congratulated newly signed striker Abia Nale on his call up to the Bafana Bafana squad to play southern African neighbours, Zambia on the 27th January 2009.

The Vaal-born striker was named in a 24-men squad to play in a game seen as dress rehearsal for an international friendly match against Chile.

“I have always believed that he is one of the best players around. The management should be congratulated once more for bringing such a player to this team,” he said.

“He has fitted well to our playing style and understands exactly what is expected of him. I am really happy for him,” said the Turk.

Joining Nale in the squad are his teammates, goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala, midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane who will get another look from the Bafana Bafana technical team after getting a call up against Malawi last year. Defender, Mokete Tsotetsi also received a call up from the Brazilian-born coach, Joel Santana.

“It is good to have many players in the national team. A player like Siphiwe Tshabalala has improved tremendously due to playing regularly in the national team.”

“We have three of our young players currently playing in a youth tournament in Africa which is good for the team.”

Meanwhile Amajita (South Africa national U20) advanced to the semifinals of African Youth Championships and have increased their chances to qualify for FIFA U20 World Cup to be played in Egypt in September when they beat favourites Nigeria 2-1 on Thursday. This was a second win in a trot for Serame Letsoaka’s boys after they defeated a determined Ivory Coast last Sunday.
