Tuesday marked a few significant moments for us as we got back to near full strength in preparation for the recommencement of league fixtures in approximately eight days time. Louis Agyemang arrived back Tuesday morning and was part of our afternoon training programme, it was important for us to have him back with sufficient preparation time before we begin competitive football again.

Louis is not rusty at the moment because he did have a tough training schedule while he was at the nations cup with the Ghana National team, what I do feel he will be in need of is some much necessary match practise and he will in all probability play on Saturday against Moroka Swallows.

The experience was a good one for Louis and even though he did not play any games I am sure he would have learnt a lot from his travels to Egypt.

Our preparations for the next couple of months of the season are going according to the form book, this past weekend we played against Ajax in Cape Town and although the match was a friendly game we did extract a lot out of it.

Firstly we rallied from a goal down to fight back and win the game, that showed the teams strength and character and it demonstrated that we have a group of players that we can call a team. Although I must admit one or two of the guys did not play up to standard, David Obua looked out of sorts and so did Siphiwe Mkhonza we should not read too much into that I feel because staying focused and motivated with such a long mid season break is always going to be tough.

Credit deserves to also be laid at the hands of Rowen Fernandez who came up with some big saves to keep us in the hunt, he kept us in the game while we were still trailing by a goal to nil. Fabian McCarthy, Gerald Sibeko and Kaizer Motaung Junior all came on in the second half and played major roles in turning the game for us. In Gert Schalkwyk we have the player we always needed as a key player in midfield and apart from creating he is also able to score goals.

Our crisis centre is being less populated as we only have Thabo Mooki and Emile Baron out with injuries, as Bevan Fransman over comes a groin problem that has laid him low since November. Our most notable returnee to action is Serge Djiehoua he made a decent start to his first full training session back with the team, I advised him not to get to involved in tackles because with all the rain we have had the pitch is not in the best of shape and we do not want to cause him any difficulties at this time.

At present confidence is high in the team, so is the spirit amongst the players, we will use the Swallows game on Saturday to further build up our momentum and gear ourselves for Sundowns. Our preparations for Sundowns have begun and they will continue in earnest over the next week and we will break away from everything from Friday onwards and will have only Sundowns on our mind.

From this Friday until after we play Dynamos and Sundowns for the second time we will be based away from Johannesburg to fully and properly prepare.

We have what could possibly be a championship-deciding week in the next fortnight and we must approach the next few weeks with in mind and behave like champions. While the team will be away preparing I will still keep you all updated with all the latest happenings from behind closed doors.

For the mean time Practice Love & Peace
