Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has made two changes to the starting lineup for tonight's Nedbank Cup semifinal clash against Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria. The match kicks off at 18h00.
Edmilson Dove makes a return to the starting XI where he will he will partner with Given Msimango, supported by Dillon Solomons and Bradley Cross in the back four. Dove replaces Miguel Inacio who sustained an injury in the previous match against TS Galaxy. The coach will pleased with the return of Thabo Cele, who was absent in Polokwane against the Rockets.
Coach Nabi has remained consistent with the selection of his attacking players, keeping faith with Gaston Sirino, Pule Mmodi and Glody Lilepo supporting Wandile Dube up front. Yusuf Maart will captain the team which will adopt a 4-2-3-1 formation.
After a season marked by inconsistency, this match presents a chance for Chiefs to revive hope and turn their campaign around. A win would not only edge them closer to a return to the CAF inter-club competition but also bring them one step closer to ending a long-standing trophy drought that has left fans yearning for silverware.
Amakhosi come to this fixture at the back of disappointing results in the last four outings, however that has not dampened the spirits of the players. They remain optimistic about their prospects, having prepared themselves to give it their all and make a strong impression by adopting a clinical and ruthless approach in their pursuit of victory. With the weight of expectation on their shoulders, they'll need to rise to the challenge and deliver.
For Coach Nabi, this match is a big test as he looks to get a result against a team that has dominated his side in their previous three encounters this season. But with Amakhosi hungry for success, tonight's match promises to be closely contested with hope that Nabi’s strategy will overcome the Masandawana juggernaut.
The match officials are, Masixole Bambiso, assited by Lalelani Mngadi and Khamusi Razwimisani. The fourth official is Buhlebendawo Jobela.
