Midfielder, Josta Dladla has revealed to kaizerchiefs.com on why he is wearing no. 9 jersey instead of no. 21 jersey he wore when he joined the Club in January this year.

Fans were caught by surprise when the Johannesburg-born player had the number 9 jersey that used to be donned by legend Neil Tovey, at the Premier’s Cup in Eastern Cape and during the Persian Tour in Bloemfontein over the weekend.

“I played with the same number in my previous Club and when I arrived in January Jose Torrealba was already using it. The other option was no. 20 for me but (Sandile) Zuke was using it so when we reported back from the pre season Jose (Torrealba) said he would like to give me the number 9 jersey. He is now wearing no. 77” said Dladla ahead of Monday training session.

Dladla has shown great form for Glamour Boys playing more inside as opposed to the right and Chiefs faithful will be hoping that he continues in the same manner during the upcoming season.
