Dladla expecting Sundowns battle

Amakhosi midfielder Josta Dladla is expecting a battle royale when Chiefs take on fellow title hopefuls Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday afternoon, with the Absa Premiership title on the line Dladla insists that Chiefs will be ready to battle for the three points on offer.

Dladla believes that it would be un-wise for Chiefs to be under estimated despite their recent cup loss, “they will be confident because of our loss in the Cup game, perhaps they will be thinking that we are down” explained Dladla.

Who then added, “remember a wounded lion is extremely dangerous, we do believe that we can go out there and get the result that we want, we are determined to give it our best on Sunday.

If you look at our performances in the last few games our team work has been good our work rate has been high, what is important is that we make the opportunities that come our way count.”

The right winger also feels that Chiefs earlier win over Sundowns in the season will be a point of motivation for the Amakhosi, “they might have thoughts of revenge on their minds because we defeated them in January.

To us the January result means very little, it is up to us to prove that our win over them was not a lucky one. For us to demonstrate that we have to come up with another strong performance, just like we did before. As I said this team is ready to give a good account on Sunday.”

Dladla is also wary of the threat posed by the attack minded Sundowns midfield and should he feature he is expecting to work hard against his former team. “it is going to involve a lot of extra investment in the game from our side if we are to be firm in the centre of the field.

In Games like these against Sundowns, winning the midfield is key to controlling the game, given the quality of the players Sundowns possesses in this area it is going to be tough.

It’s going to be hard to get control of the midfield, the thought of such a challenge though motivates you for such a game and we have to rise to the occasion.”
