Kaizer Chiefs Development teams were once again in action last weekend against counterparts, SuperSport United at Tshwane University of Technology.

The boys from Pretoria beat the Amakhosi’s U-17s by 2-1 in the first game and in the second game the U-19s came back with a single point with Philani Cele finding the back of the net for the young Amakhosi after SuperSport had taken the lead in the first half.

U19s midfielder, Boitumelo ‘Six’ Xaba told kaizerchiefs.com that they are using the league fixtures as preparation for the Bayhill tournament to take place in Cape Town later this month.

“There is a rivalry between Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United as they also have quality players and it was the same on Saturday as none of the teams wanted to lose.

It is important for us to keep on doing well in the league as part of our preparation for Bayhill tournament in Cape Town where we going to meet top teams around the country,” said ‘Six’ who was promoted this year to the U-19 team following scintillating performances during the U-17 Gauteng Future Champions Cup held in Soweto early this year.
