Kaizer Chiefs Development teams had a flying start in the SAFA Soweto league on Saturday, 06 March 2010 at Mayfair.
The first game saw U-17 giving Bophelo Academy a 5-0 drubbing with Maritzburg born, 16 year old Menzi Hlophe grabbing a brace so was midfielder, Siyabonga Mfene. Nkuleko Tshangane, captain for both Club’s U-17 and Amajimbos regarded by many as the next “Johannes Mofokeng” scored the other goal.
The U-19s also registered a 1-0 over Bophelo Academy through Mpho Sitayitayi’s strike, ensuring the best possible start for the Development teams.
Both teams are coach by Chiefs legends, Doctor Khumalo and Fani Madida respectively.
