Kaizer Chiefs development teams, U17 and U19 made an impressive start to the league this past weekend with both teams registering wins in their first games of the season. Both teams are affiliated to SAFA Soweto.

Chairman and Managing Director, Kaizer Motaung and Football Manager, Bobby Motaung were in attendance as the development teams eased past their opponents.

Under the tutelage of legendary, Doctor Khumalo, the U17’s registered a 6-0 victory over Sporting F.C with Thembani “Eto” Nkomo netting a brace, Andile Ngcubeni, Daveyton-born, Vuyani Nkosi, Kwena Kubyane and captain, Makoena Phukubye were all on target.

The Under-19’s guided by another legend, Donald “Ace” Khuse were equally impressive in the second game of the afternoon as they registered a hard fought 2-1 victory of Sporting F.C. Striker, Pule Motloung was on target together with his teammate, Philani Cele.

The wins will go a long way in boosting the two sides ahead of the meeting against Soweto rivals, Orlando Pirates this coming weekend.
