Zdravo!

Kaizer Chiefs vs. Mamelodi Sundowns

I would like to take this opportunity and congratulate my players for doing the business against Sundowns on Saturday. We did not have a good first half and I suspect that had to do with the humidity. I think at the end we deserved to win the game.

We were once again solid at the back and never gave Mamelodi Sundowns any chance. We were also strong in the middle. I think overall all the players did well and everything worked according to a plan. The win of course came at a price as now we will have to do this weekend without the services of both Siphiwe Tshabalala and Valery Nahayo who are both suspended.

Many people said the win was a Birthday present to the Serbians who celebrated their Christmas on Friday but for us it was more important to beat Sundowns and reduce the gap at the top of the table. The win has thrown the league wide open.

Preview: Ajax Cape Town vs. Kaizer Chiefs

Ajax Cape Town has proved that they are no pushovers and the fact that they went to Durban last weekend and returned with the three points demonstrates their quality and intentions this season. It will be an interesting game as both teams are currently on a high. I am confident that the fans from both teams will not be disappointed at the end of the day as both teams are always willing to play football.

Preparations for this game have gone well. We all know how important it is for us to keep in touch with league leaders Sundowns. Our team is in a good space at the moment and the spirit is high in the team. We cannot underestimate Ajax and we will need to be at our best to beat them in Cape Town.

We look forward to seeing all our fans in that side of town. We know that fans in Cape Town always come in numbers to support the team and on Friday it will not be different. Kick off is at 20h45.

Ballon D’or Awards

We are of course as a team very proud of Siphiwe Tshabalala who represented us at the Ballon D’or Awards. Even though he did not win but his goal will forever be engraved in the hearts of South Africans and all those who came to the country to witness the 2010 World Cup.
