Absa Premiership Post view: Free State Stars vs. Kaizer Chiefs

We knew going down to Botshabelo that the game against Free State Stars was not going to be easy. Once again we controlled the game but Stars scored a goal out of nowhere.

I spoke to the players at half time and the players showed more vigor putting the hosts under lot of pressure. We also created enough opportunities to win the game but in football sometimes things do not work out your way.

It was a big disappointment that we lost the game but then again it is too early for people to start counting us out of the league race. Despite the loss, there were positives out of the game and I am still proud of my players. I have no doubt we will bounce back soon from the defeat at Botshabelo Stadium.

Absa Premiership Preview: Kaizer Chiefs vs. Bidvest Wits University

We are back at Peter Mokaba Stadium this weekend to play against Bidvest Wits University. This is another tricky fixture for us against a side that has surprised some of the big teams in the league this season.

Our preparations have gone well despite the weather conditions that we had to train under this week. I have spoken the players about the importance of us coming back with a positive result in this game. We have a clean bill of health in the team and everyone is raring to go.

Today (Wednesday) we also welcomed back Siphiwe Tshabalala who returned to training after losing his mother.

I am looking forward to seeing you all at Peter Mokaba Stadium. Kick off is at 20:15.

Call-ups

On Sunday, 12 December 2010 Lawrence Molekwane, Lucky Khune, George Lebese and Mandla Masango joined the national U23 camp for a friendly match against Egypt in Cairo. I am happy for the 4 players and wish them all the best. I am hopeful that all the players will be back on time before we leave for Polokwane.
