Absa Premiership: Chiefs vs. Vasco Da Gama

We went to FNB Stadium with one objective in mind, to win the game against Vasco Da Gama. It was my decision to make changes to the squad on the day. I will one day explain why I am doing it.

Nonetheless, we had a team there on Saturday that was capable of winning against any opposition in the league. If you look at our defence for instance, both Valery Nahayo and Dominic Isaacs played together in the centre of defence early in the season.

The only player who had not featured as much and was given an opportunity was George Lebese, but all others were the players that had been used on a regular basis.

We did not play at our usual level on Saturday but still created chances on the day. It was not to be and now that is water under the bridge. Congratulations once more to Vasco Da Gama for the win.

Telkom Knockout Final

Players need no motivation this weekend against Orlando Pirates. Each and every member in the squad knows what is at stake in the derby. It is a special moment not only for me but also for everyone associated with the Club.

This game will be totally different to the league game we played last month. I do expect my players though to apply themselves at the same level they did the last time we met. We are mentally and physically ready to do the job on Saturday.

I have all the players available for selection this weekend…a nice headache to have as a Coach.

Orlando Pirates will be difficult but in football anything is possible.

The atmosphere will be electrifying with reports that tickets for the game have been sold out. Please wear your gold and black…see you at FNB Stadium. Kickoff is at 20:15.

EL Classico

On Monday night millions around the world sat in front of their TV’s to watch one of the greatest derbies in the world with Real Madrid visiting Barcelona at Camp Nou.

I have had an honour of playing in a derby back home as a former player at Partizan Belgrade…just like Kaizer Chiefs vs. Orlando Pirates emotions were flying high at Nou Camp.

In my opinion the current team at Barcelona is probably the best team of all time. The Pep Guardiola’s side plays perfect football. They were faultless against Real Madrid on Monday who is usually a very difficult side to break down because of their organisation.
