Vladimir Vermezovic gave a glowing tribute to his charges following a 2-1 win over Free State Stars in the last league game of the 2009/2010 season.

The Glamour Boys were already guaranteed a third spot, but they still went to win against Stars to ensure that they end the league season on a high note.

“My players showed lot of professionalism today (Saturday), because they came here knowing that maximum points would not make any difference in the log standings. In the first half we shared the ball very well and we were able to go behind their defence.

“We hope to continue playing this way when we visit Santos in Cape Town on the March 21,” said a pleased Vermezovic, speaking to the media after the game.

The Serbian also told the media that he was satisfied with the side’s third position, “Kaizer Chiefs is always expected to win trophies, but we have to be satisfied finishing in third position on the log. We hope to win the league next season,” he added.

Meanwhile, on Monday morning the boys from Phefeni were back at the Club’s headquarters at Naturena for training, in preparation for a potentially scintillating Telkom Knockout fixture against unpredictable Santos in Cape Town at Newlands on Sunday, March 21, at 3:30pm.
