MESSAGE TO THE CHAPPIES LITTLE LEAGUE LAUNCH ON THE 20 FEBRUARY 2003 BY KAIZER MOTAUNG

Dear Friends,

Firstly I would like to apologise for my absence. Rest assured that in spirit I am with you.

I am with you today as I was back in 1988, when the Chappies Little League was first launched.

At Kaizer Chiefs we have always believed in development as we believe in our youth.

Through our youth development programme, we aim at unlocking the full potential of individuals in a scientific and professional manner, both on the field and through education to attain standards of distinction and thereby contribute to the well being of South Africa.

In keeping with the very same principle but on a much greater scale, Chappies and USSASA will make dreams come true.

As an organisation we are ecstatic that the Chappies Little League has now evolved from a club programme to an all-encompassing school programme. We believe that through development programmes such as this, not only will soccer in general prosper, but the well being of our youth and more importantly the well being of our future.

In closing I would like to congratulate Chappies for their return into the Sport and welcome them with open arms. I cannot stress enough how important it is for corporates to get involved in such programmes. Without your backing the momentum of youth development and in turn the sport will be greatly stunted.

Good Luck to all the participating schools.

May the best team win.
