Kaizer Chiefs were back at training on Tuesday following their hard fought victory against SuperSport United on Sunday. The Glamour Boys are now preparing for the tricky Last 16 fixture against First Division outfit, FC Cape Town.

Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic speaking to kaizerchiefs.com dismissed suggestions from sections of the media that the upcoming clash will be a ‘walkover’ for the reigning Telkom Knockout champions.

“There are no easy games in football, in fact this might be our toughest game this season,” warned Vermezovic.

“We know very little about FC Cape Town but we have people who watched their game and they will help us with the information that we need. We are taking this game seriously like we have done in all the games this season. The players know that this is a massive game for us,” he said.

Vermezovic also revealed that he was still hoping to give other fringe players opportunity during the Nedbank Challenge, “I am pleased with the performance of the whole team and like we said we want to use the cups to prepare our players for the next season.

Lawrence Molekwane for instance has always been on the travelling team while Michael Nkambule was in the squad in one of the Telkom Knockout matches but could not make it as he got sick. Hopefully before the end of the competition some of them will get an opportunity,” added Vermezovic.
