Chiefs upbeat ahead of Bidvest encounter

Kaizer Chiefs will be hosting Bidvest Wits University at what has become a ‘happy hunting ground’, Super Stadium in Tswane on Saturday. The game will kick off at 20h15.

The game will give the Glamour Boys an opportunity to once again climb the league table. They collected all the points the last time they played in the league beating Golden Arrows thanks to Siphiwe Tshabalala’s goal.

Chiefs are currently lying fourth with 37 points. Nine points adrift with log leaders, Supersport United.

Defender, Jonathan Quartey told kaizerchiefs.com that they are going to Super to fight for all the available.

“We cannot afford any slip ups now,” said the Black Stars defender shortly before training on Friday morning.

“The game against Bidvest Wits is going to be tough but we are well prepared. The guys understand the importance of each game at this stage of the season,”

Jonathan added that he has recovered fully from the Achilles injury that kept him out for two weeks,”

The two sides have met 45 times since 1985 with the Glamour Boys winning 21 times while Bidvest Wits have won only 9. Chiefs were also victorious against Bidvest Wits in the first round giving them a 4-1 drubbing.
