Chiefs under-13 collect silver in South Korea

The Kaizer Chiefs U13 team lost in the finals of the Korean International U13 Youth Tournament by 2-0 to to Japan National Team.

The game was played at a high tempo in the first half and the first goal came in the twentieth minute from the Japanese through a defensive error by Kaizer Chiefs.

The half time score was one nil to Japan.

In the 10th minute of the second half, the Japanese increased their lead to two after another defensive error.

The Chiefs boys tried to make up but could not match the physique of the Japanese players. They missed a few chances in the first and second half.

In the award ceremony, over and above the silver medals, Kaizer Chiefs won the FIFA FAIR PLAY AWARD.

The team will be home on Tuesday morning at 7:00 am.

Chiefs under-13 reach finals in Korea

The Kaizer Chiefs under-13 development side are now in the finals of the South Korean Youth International Tournament that will be played tomorrow at 13:00 at the Korea World Cup Stadium.

We beat FC Porto from Portugal by two goals to one. The first goal was scored by Shadrack Matlhong,who is probably the leading goal scorer in this competition at the moment.

The score was one nil at half time. In the second half Porto eaqualised in the first ten minutes and we took the lead again in the 15th minute with a goal from Motheo Setati.

We will now be playing the Japanese National team in the finals and hope to do well.
