The Kaizer Chiefs under-17 team will kick off their campaign in the Gauteng Future Champions Tournament against SAFA Tshwane on Monday, January 25, after the draw was announced by the tournament organisers at Dobsonville Stadium.

Kick-off for the game will be at 10am.

The young Chiefs have been grouped in Group A with SAFA Tshwane, Team Dublin from Ireland and Shandong Luneng from China.

Head of Development, Walter Steenbok, who attended the draw together with development coaches Ryder Mofokeng and Terror Sephoa, expressed his satisfaction with the draw, pointing out that all the teams will be difficult to beat.

“I am glad our team is going to be exposed to different physical attributes as we get to play with a team from China and a team from Dublin. This is a good experience for our young boys and I am sure we are going to take good lessons out of this exercise.

"We cannot underestimate the Tshwane Select side as they will be gunning for a win. We have put up a competitive side and I am sure the boys are going to do us proud,” said Steenbok, speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Tuesday.
