Siphiwe Tshabalala, Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Itumeleng Khune have been named in the Bafana Bafana squad to camp in Durban from January 15 to 28.

The camp in Durban is only for local-based players and is the first this year as Bafana Bafana prepare for the Fifa World Cup in June.

Itumeleng Khune, who has been absent from Bafana Bafana since August last year due to injury, told kaizerchiefs.com on Wednesday afternoon that he is delighted to be back in the national team.

“I am glad to be back in the mix for Bafana Bafana. My aim was first to get to the team and work my way up. The other goalkeepers did very well during my absence and I am happy that I will be working with the likes of Emille Baron, whom I have a lot of respect for since our days at Chiefs. Moeneeb Josephs also proved himself to be one of the best goalkeepers around,” said the delighted Khune.

Safa also announced that the squad of local players will play a practice match against Swaziland at Chatsworth Stadium on January 23 and will face Zimbabwe in a full international match at Moses Mabhida Stadium on January 27. Kick-off is at 8:30pm.
