Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter named a 16-man squad for the upcoming Cosafa Castle Cup clash against Zambia this weekend with three players coming from Kaizer Chiefs.

Rowen Fernandez is one of the only two keepers named for this clash while Bevan Fransman will help out in defence. Rene Richards has been named as a midfielder.

The bulk of the 16 players, announced on Wednesday at FNB Stadium, is made up of players that represented South Africa admirably at the recent Concacaf Gold Cup tournament in the United States of America.

Squad:

Goalkeepers - Calvin Marlin (SuperSport United), Rowen Fernandez (Kaizer Chiefs).

Defenders - Matthew Booth, Ricardo Katza and Siboniso Gaxa (SuperSport United), Peter Petersen (Moroka Swallows), Bevan Fransman (Kaizer Chiefs).

Midfielders - Phil Evans, Abram Raselemane and Daine Klate (SuperSport United), Thembile Kanono (Santos), Siyabonga Nkosi (Bloemfontein Celtic), Rene Richards (Kaizer Chiefs), BenedictVilakazi (Orlando Pirates).

Strikers - Siyabonga Nomvete (unattached) and Lungisani Ndlela (SuperSport United).

Three more players are expected to join the team at a later stage.
