Kaizer Chiefs development side went through to the quarter final stage of the Metropolitan Premier Cup after beating Santos FC 1-0 in an entertaining clash at Belhar Sport Grounds on Saturday afternoon.

Nkululeko “Shoes” Makhubo scored the only goal of the match.

Earlier on the day Chiefs had beaten Old Mutual Academy 2-0 with goals coming from Maselaelo “Shakes” Seanego and Anthony Gordinho. It was this win that ensured the young Chiefs qualify for the last 16.

They will be hoping to progress even further in the competition when they meet ASD Cape Town. Kickoff is at 12:00 on Sunday, 24 April 2011.
