Kaizer Chiefs have moved swiftly to snatch the signature of a young left-back Punch Masenamela. The 21-year-old who previously played for PJ Stars made his first appearance for Kaizer Chiefs as a guest player in the Telkom Charity game against Sundowns where he came on for Gordon Gilbert late in the second half.

Punch showed no signs of nervousness when coach, Muhsin Ertugral threw him in the fray against one of South Africa’s top sides. He also showed nerves of steel when he took the last penalty that sent Chiefs to the final against Orlando Pirates..

“This is a big step for me. It is a realisation of my childhood dream. I know that I will have to work harder here as I am joining a great team with good players in particular in the left back position. The few minutes I played on Saturday gave me confidence. It was easy for me to take the penalty as I was confident of scoring. Everyone at home is very proud of me and I cannot disappoint them,” said the visibly delighted youngster from Bochum in Limpopo.

Chiefs Football Manager confirmed that the youngster has signed a 47-month contract with the Glamour Boys.
