Kaizer Chiefs have moved swiftly and boldly to boost their attacking options with the signing of Congolese international, Glody Makabi Lilepo from French club Valenciennes FC. The exciting acquisition of a player with global experience marks Amakhosi’s first signing of the January transfer window, as they continue to add quality to the squad.

Born 27 years ago in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lilepo plays primarily as a goal scoring right winger with a penchant for taking defenders on in a manner that is sure to thrill Amakhosi supporters.

With 11 international caps for his national team, the attacker has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal, which also includes an option for a further season. He has played 16 matches for Valenciennes in France this season, scoring four goals and making two assists.

Before moving to France, he previously played for Al Hilal in Sudan and AS Vita in his homeland, bringing valuable expertise to those teams in various competitions.

He also carries a wealth of experience in the CAF Championships League where he represented Al Hilal and AS Vita. He managed to score 8 goals in 16 matches for Al Hilal in Africa’s most prestigious club competition.

This statement of intent from the Club’s management is to further implement their vision by upgrading the playing staff in their quest to restore Amakhosi to their rightful place at the summit of the football pyramid.
