Assistant coach, Donald “Ace” Khuse has told kaizerchiefs.com that the team is ready to face off Soweto rivals, Orlando Pirates on Thursday, 23 July.

The winner on Thursday will have an opportunity to have another bite on Manchester City on Saturday at Loftus Versfeld.

Chiefs who have won the competition a record of five times will be looking at winning the coveted trophy in the tournament’s 10th year anniversary.

Khuse who as a player represented the Glamour Boys 174 times hitting the net on 51 occasions, was at his cool self as he was talking to kaizerchiefs.com on Thursday morning.

“From a preparation point of view we have done possible everything to beat Orlando Pirates tonight,” he said.

“We are not worried with the Pirates result on Saturday; this will be a different ball game. In derbies it goes down to preparation in particular the mental aspect. We spoke to the guys after the Manchester City game on Tuesday. ”

Mthokozisi Yende who made his first appearance for the team on Tuesday said he was also looking forward facing off Pirates on Thursday.

“We are talking about the game in the camp, everyone looks focused. The thing is you just can’t ignore the fact that you are playing against Pirates and this happens to be a biggest game in the South African sports calendar. I cannot say much about them. All I can say is that I am ready,” said Yende.
